History
In 2002, Keymer and Hassocks CC approached Hassocks Parish Council (HPC) with a view to resurrecting discussions on the future of the pavilion. Both parties agreed that a new building was needed for the benefit of all current and potential sporting users in the village.
The cricket club engaged an architect to draw up plans to get the ball rolling, and the estimated cost generated from these drawings was approximately £350,000. In October 2008, local architects Ecotecture, specialists in this kind of project, were appointed by HPC, and drove the project forward on behalf of the council.
As main users, KHCC committed £30,000 to the project, including approximately £5,000 raised since 2002. Mid Sussex District Council (MSDC) have awarded £119,000 to HPC towards the costs and in December 2008, £58,500 was secured from Viridor Landfill Tax Credits. This made the externally funded total at £207,500.
